Creativity, like any other aptitude, is susceptible to training, and for children in particular, it is an elastic muscle that is important to work on, even more so in the early stages.

At Logos International Bilingual School in Las Rozas de Madrid we encourage creativity in our day to day classes, as we know how important it will be for children in the future when it comes to approaching any job or solving problems.

We also have projects aimed at promoting these areas such as our musical and psychomotor stimulation project from an early age in our Logos Nursery Schoolor digital photography in International when they are a little older.

Here are some rabbits to encourage creativity in the little ones.

We hope they work for you! 😊

- Playing matters.

It is known that play, among many other virtues associated with learning, stimulates the development of imagination and therefore creativity.

Playing is a way for children to practice their newly acquired knowledge and to train new roles and strategies. Letting them play, providing them with adequate time and space for it, is fundamental to foster their creativity. Let them try, let them experiment and accompany them in their play whenever possible.

Creativity is intrinsic to play.

- He praises their ingenuity.

Positive reinforcement is important. If you support their most imaginative thoughts, lateral thinking when it comes to providing solutions to problems, or the ability to imagine and tell stories, you will be providing self-confidence to the child when it comes to face tasks that require creativity to achieve goals or find solutions in their day to day life.

- Tell them stories and create stories with them.

Children love stories and this is for a reason. As with play, stories allow them to imagine, empathize, travel, and so on. Tell them stories and allow them to contribute content to those stories. If they are of a certain age, seeing how their parents read is the best incentive to encourage this facet in them. Encourage them to read, but above all, let them see you doing it.

- Sometimes it is better to let him do it.

Sometimes, when faced with a complex task, parents tend to guide their child along the way to a successful accomplishment. This is normal and human, as we want the best for them. But sometimes, if we let them do it in the first place, they learn to make mistakes and secondly, sometimes, they reach the solution by paths that we had not even imagined.

As we grow older, so-called diagonal thinking atrophies as the brain becomes accustomed to following established paths that require less effort.

It is amazing how developed children are in lateral thinking and the solutions they sometimes come up with when we leave them alone to face a problem....

Therefore, be patient and let him find the solution to the problem himself. You will often be surprised at the ingenious solutions he comes up with.

In short, children are creative to the core. It is a matter of accompanying them and encouraging them to use it by reinforcing them, and helping them to focus it in a good direction.
