Throughout the development of an individual, as he or she evolves and overcomes phases, we must keep in mind that play, the use of dynamics and the performance of activities will always be important, whether in adolescents, young children or adults.

We know that new technologies have landed with force in our schools, homes and lives, and at certain ages it is difficult to deal with them in order to promote a responsible and healthy use of them.

During the teenage years, many children rely heavily on online video games, social networks or instant messaging services. This results in less physically understood social interaction with peers, elders, etc.

That is why it is convenient to promote creative activities for secondary school children. Because there are several advantages related to social contact, disconnection from technological routines, the development of creativity and, above all, fun.

The best creative activities for middle school children

Based on our work and experience, we have selected a series of really interesting creative activities to do with teenagers. They are perfect to be put into practice both in the educational and family environment, and also for them to do among friends and peers.

Broken phone

It is a traditional game that does not require the use of any materials or resources. It is as simple as passing a message to the ear between several young people saying it as fast as possible. The last person to hear it must decipher the content.

As we can see, it is a simple and easy to learn activity, but a lot of fun. Of course, it requires at least four participants for it to be fun and attractive for the kids.

The liar's card game

Another ideal activity for young people to have fun, which in this case only requires a minimum of two people, although more can play.

Cards tend to be very popular with teenagers. That's why it's a good idea to always have decks of cards on hand for them to enjoy their free time.

In this case, taking turns, the children get rid of cards by saying aloud which ones they throw to the pile. However, what they say does not have to be in line with the card they discard. The next player must decide whether to believe the previous participant or not. Once the liar is 'caught', he/she has to take the cards from the accumulated pile.

Movie game

The use of films is always interesting in child and youth development. Having children watch films that introduce positive values such as friendship, cooperation or solidarity will be excellent for fostering their self-concept and responsibility.

And, of course, movies are also a source of entertainment. And not only for the films themselves, but also for the games and activities that we can take advantage of them. For example, forming teams in which a child, by means of gestures and mimics, interprets a film that the rest of the group has to guess in a specific time.
