Emotional education: Ruler Program
RULER PROGRAM
Our school integrates into its curriculum the RULER Approach method of social-emotional education based on decades of research and scientifically endorsed by Yale University(http://ei.yale.edu/ruler/).
"We work to help them recognize, understand and regulate emotions from the age of 3."
Ruth Castillo, expert in the Ruler Program and responsible for the Emotional Education area at Logos School.
Emotional intelligence
In our guidance department we have the collaboration of Ruth Castillo Gualda, Doctor in Psychology with more than 10 years of experience in emotional education and expert in the Ruler program.
She is responsible for the implementation and supervision of the method in the school. As well as, the deepening and adaptation, through individualized tutoring, of some of these tools, in cases deemed appropriate.
Watch what Ruth told us on the radio program "La mañana" on COPE about how we work with the Ruler program at school.
OBJECTIVE
The objective we intend to achieve in our school with the method is the acquisition of strategies and skills of Emotional Intelligencefor their lives both within the school and in their family environment.
With the Ruler program, our students become more aware of their emotions and the influence they have on their daily lives.
They learn to regulate themselves adequately in emotionally intense situations, resolve conflicts better, maintain healthier relationships and have greater physical and mental well-being, key aspects for optimal development.
